No injuries reported from Wednesday’s fire
It took less than five minutes for the first fire engine to arrive after reports of a fire at a local business Wednesday, and the fire did not spread beyond the kitchen.
Multiple 911 callers reported flames coming from the roof of the building at 15606 Mill Plain Blvd. in east Vancouver at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday. The first engine arrived within four minutes and firefighters found smoke and fire showing from the room. The first was discovered inside the kitchen.
Photos of the business, as well as comments on social media, show that the building is home to Juliano’s Pizza.
Initial fire crews pulled hose lines inside the building to fight the fire, prevent further spread, and search for people. A Vancouver Fire ladder truck worked on the roof to ensure no fire spread through the attic and provide ventilation to exhaust the smoke from inside the building.
The fire was declared under control in less than 20 minutes.
There were no reports of injuries in the press release from the Vancouver Fire Department.
The fire is being investigated by the Vancouver Fire Marshall’s Office.
