Rep. Chris Corry chosen to be deputy leader
Rep. Drew Stokesbary has been re-elected as Leader of the Washington State House Republicans. The 31st Legislative District lawmaker from Auburn was chosen for the leadership post during the caucus reorganization meeting in Chelan today.
“I’m honored that my House Republican colleagues have re-elected me as Leader. I’m proud to be part of the new, talented leadership team that is ready to get to work on day one,” said House Republican Leader Drew Stokesbary. “House Republicans will continue to fight for solutions to address our state's catalog of crises. From affordability, to public safety, to homelessness – our goal is to fix Washington.”

I look forward to what our caucus can accomplish this upcoming legislative session for the people of Washington,” said House Republican Deputy Leader Chris Corry, R-Yakima. “In the weeks ahead, we will be rolling out our policy proposals to address the challenges facing all Washingtonians.”
The Washington State House Republicans also elected the rest of their leadership team:
- Deputy Leader: Rep. Chris Corry, 14th Legislative District (soon to be 15th Legislative District) (Yakima)
- Caucus Chair: Rep. Peter Abbarno, 20th Legislative District (Centralia)
- Whip: Rep. Dan Griffey, 35th Legislative District (Allyn)
- Floor Leader: Rep. April Connors, 8th Legislative District (Kennewick)
- Assistant Floor Leader: Rep. Skyler Rude, 16th Legislative District (Walla Walla)
- Assistant Floor Leader: Rep. Travis Couture, 35th Legislative District (Allyn)
Additional leadership positions and House committee assignments will be announced at later dates.
The 2025 legislative session will begin Jan. 13 and is scheduled to run 105 days.
