Camas resident Gary Perman shares his appreciation for the rejection of the proposed utility tax

Camas voters have spoken, rejecting the proposed utility tax increase to 6% and standing for responsible budgeting. We fully support our police and first responders, but this tax represented an unnecessary financial burden on residents. With already high property taxes and rising fees, Camas must prioritize essential services with existing revenue without resorting to repeated tax increases.
Voters sent a clear message: demand fiscal responsibility and accountability, collect what is owed to our city, and stop passing the consequences of poor financial planning onto taxpayers. Thank you for ensuring Camas remains a safe and fiscally responsible community. Your voice matters!
