Letter: La Center resident asks for support of schools

La Center resident Doug Boff offers his thoughts on the La Center School District’s bond measure on the ballot for the February special election.

Proposition 2 would address overcrowding issue in elementary and middle schools

La Center schools are to be commended for their performance and outstanding reputation. When compared with statewide evaluation metrics, the excellent ranking of our schools stands out. But our elementary and middle schools today are faced with a serious overcrowding situation.  If not addressed soon, overcrowding will only worsen as the La Center area continues to grow.  Failure to confront this challenge may put the quality of our students' educations in jeopardy.   I have always voted in favor for education funding measures, as I believe every effort must be made to provide students with the best preparation possible for their futures. Our upcoming bond issue is no exception.   Please join me in supporting our students and our school district by voting in favor of La Center School District Proposition 2. Doug Boff La Center
