Clark County lands 15 baseball players on all-state teams

The Washington State Baseball Coaches Association honored 15 players from Clark County, along with a coach, with its all-state teams.

The state champions are leading Clark County in all-state recognition, too. Three high school baseball players and their coach from King’s Way Christian were honored, along with 12 other Clark County athletes, by the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association (WSBCA). Damon Casetta-Stubbs and Sam Lauderdale, both pitchers, along with Garrett Wellman, an outfielder, were voted to the Class 1A all-state team. Coach Ty Singleton was named the coach of the year for the classification. King’s Way Christian won the Class 1A state baseball championship in May. The WSBCA released the results of its voting for the best of the best earlier this week. Battle Ground landed three players on the Class 4A all-state team: Isaiah Smith, now playing for the Kansas City Royals organization in the minor leagues, is an all-state outfielder. So, too, is Max Randle. Gunner Talkington is an all-state catcher.

  Skyview, which took third place in the Class 4A tournament, had two all-state players: Brody Barnum and Daniel Copeland were both listed at pitcher/outfielder. Evergreen, which had its best season in decades, has two all-state players: Tommy Snyder, a pitcher, and Trevor Swartz, at third base. Prairie’s Greg Bernash made the 3A team as an outfielder, shortstop and pitcher. The Ridgefield Spudders got two on the Class 2A team: Spencer Anderson was listed as a pitcher/outfielder, and Kevin Miser was on the team as an infielder. Dakota Mason of Columbia River and Mitch Lines of Hockinson were both all-state pitchers.
