The victim was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries
On Wednesday (Jan. 22) at about 6:13 p.m., a report was made to 9-1-1 that a pedestrian had just been hit by a vehicle in the roadway near the 5200 block of NE Minnehaha St, in Vancouver.
First responders with Vancouver Fire Department, AMR, and the Clark County Sheriff's Office arrived to find a person in the roadway with significant injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver remained at the scene, was cooperative with investigators and there were no signs of impairment on the part of the driver.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit was called out to conduct an investigation. This case is active pending further investigation. The roadway was closed for a few hours for the investigation.
