VANCOUVER – All lanes of southbound Interstate 5 near Northeast 179th Street (milepost 9.1) in Clark County have reopened following emergency repairs to a damaged section of the roadway.

Washington State Department of Transportation contractor crews removed the damaged concrete and replaced it with asphalt, allowing the right and center lanes to safely reopen to traffic.

This is a temporary repair, and the contractor will return at a later date to complete a permanent repair using concrete.

Although all lanes are now open, travelers may continue to experience delays as traffic congestion clears. Drivers should slow down, stay alert and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
