VANCOUVER – Travelers heading north on Interstate 5 between Oregon and Washington should plan for overnight closures and delays.
On Wednesday, Nov. 4, Washington State Department of Transportation traffic crews will close up to two lanes of northbound I-5 to locate and mark utility lines near the bridge.
Crews will look for gas and sewer lines, power cables and phone and internet lines. Knowing where these utilities are located is an important step before future work begins. It helps crews plan ahead, avoid damaging existing utilities and reduce the risk of unexpected service disruptions during work.
What to expect
From 11 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4 to 4 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 5:
- Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 will close at the Interstate Bridge between Jantzen Beach near milepost 0.00 and Vancouver near milepost 1.0.
