Fort Vancouver continues to battle through the struggles of the high school football season.

Fort Vancouver had a limited roster available for Week 1’s matchup with King’s Way Christian but the Trappers have more players getting eligible each week.
Trappers to face league-leading Mountain View Thursday

Big sack:
Evergreen did not score on its first possession. A big part of that was a sack by the Fort Vancouver defense.The Evergreen quarterback scrambled around, and Fort Vancouver linebacker Deven Erwin made his move. Erwin was 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage, in pass coverage, when he saw the Evergreen quarterback escape initial pressure. Erwin made a beeline for the quarterback and pushed him out of bounds for a loss of 12 yards. Yes, the Fort linebacker covered more than 20 yards to make that big sack.
Trapper TDs:
Nehemiah Polk-Rasheed scored for Fort Vancouver on a 17-yard run in the second half. Couldn’t see the jersey numbers but there were two great blocks downfield to get him into the end zone. Proof that the Trappers are still fighting is when you see everyone on the field trying to make block.Quarterback Devyn Turner found Shawn Mintah for a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, giving the Trappers something to feel good about after the game.

It goes back to shooting ourselves in the first quarter. In 90 percent of the games, we’re shooting ourselves in the first quarter.
