David Stuebe is a full-time public servant who also serves as mayor of Washougal, a small city that cannot hide from the effects of bad state policy.

Diana Perez says the 17th “deserves a full-time representative.” But Stuebe’s experience leading Washougal while serving in Olympia is an asset, not a distraction. He sees firsthand what happens when the Legislature raises costs while small cities are still expected to provide fire protection, maintain streets, and deliver emergency medical response.

That perspective is why Stuebe’s work on ambulance funding and local fire-service options matters. He understands that state mandates and tax increases do not stay in Olympia; they land on local budgets and household kitchen tables.

Perez says she will vacate her Vancouver City Council seat if elected. Fine. The more important question is what votes she will cast once she gets to Olympia. Her political path runs through a city government that has repeatedly reached for new taxes and toward a legislative majority that recently created a state income tax.

Stay with the leader who already represents the whole district and understands what state policy means for local communities. Re-elect David Stuebe on Nov 3rd.

A Washougal resident voter.
