Sausage making means both sides at the table, forced to negotiate. Bad policy is one-party rule that runs the other side into the ground. Olympia has chosen the second option for years.

Democratic majorities have written the tax increases, fee hikes, tuition jumps, and education failures without Republican votes. These are not distant federal decisions. They are Olympia's own handiwork. The results are higher costs, heavier burdens, and a public school system that keeps spending more while delivering less. That is not compromise. That is dominance.
This November 3rd the choice is binary. Voters can elect enough Republicans to force actual negotiation and end the one-sided steamroll. Or they can hand the state fully to Democrats and their progressive allies and watch Washington become California- higher taxes, less accountability, and no serious opposition left.
To Democratic voters: stop pretending Washington, D.C. is the problem. Your party's majorities passed the taxes, the fees, the tuition, and the education policies. They did it alone. Own it.
To Republican voters: your absence is the reason the tax and spend machine keeps winning. Democrats do exactly what tax-and-spend parties always do when given power. Republicans who stay home give them that power. Complaining about the cost of living while refusing to vote by mail is not resistance. It is surrender.
One side writes the bills. The other side sits out. The result is bad policy by design. Olympia does not need a more polite process. It needs enough opposition to stop the steamroll. Republican voters will decide whether the opposition shows up or whether the Democrat one-party rule hardens into permanent reality.
