Each summer, downtown community events bring people from across Ridgefield and the surrounding area to explore historic downtown, discover local businesses and connect with one another. When colder, wetter weather arrives, many outdoor activities wind down, and downtown sees fewer visitors.
To help keep the area active during the winter months, the city of Ridgefield is partnering with the Port of Ridgefield, Ridgefield Farmers Market and more local organizations to bring a series of community events to the vacant Greely Building. The goal is to create fun reasons for people to visit downtown, enjoy time together and discover the shops, restaurants and other businesses that make Ridgefield unique.
The Gather at Greely series is anchored by the Ridgefield Farmers Market’s Winter Market, held on the first and third Saturdays from November 7 through April 17. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the former garage will feature handcrafted products, plants, flowers, baked goods, prepared foods and live music. There will be no Winter Market on December 5 or January 2 due to Hometown Celebration and the New Year's holiday.

The series will also feature Friday afternoon events between November and April featuring live music and activities hosted by local nonprofit organizations. The first of these events is scheduled for Friday, November 13, when the Ridgefield Family Resource Center will host a workshop writing Positive Notes on World Kindness Day. Attendees will create cards of encouragement as a small but meaningful way to spread kindness, encouragement and positivity. The cards will be placed in snack bags at the RFRC that are offered to families for their students.
Friday events will continue through April 2027, with fun activities like Bingo hosted by Ridgefield Lions Club on Friday, February 5. Additional programming is still in development. The Greely Building is located at 304 Pioneer Street, with nearby street parking. Visit RidgefieldWa.us/Gather for the latest schedule as new events are added.

The goal of Gather at Greely is to create welcoming, enjoyable events throughout the winter, drawing people to spend time downtown, explore local businesses, grab a meal or drink and support the local economy during a traditionally quieter season.
The city is continuing to coordinate events for the Gather at Greely series and welcomes interest from local nonprofit organizations that would like to host an event, share their mission and connect with community members.
