The attached garage of the two-story house was fully engulfed in flames
On Tuesday (Oct. 3) evening at 10:44 p.m., the Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched to 16609 NE 97th Street for a reported house fire. The first engine arrived within five minutes of dispatch to find a two-story house with an attached garage and the garage was fully engulfed in flames.
Four engines, one ladder truck, one squad and two battalion chiefs responded with a total of 20 personnel. Clark County Fire District 3 provided mutual aid with one engine.
The fire was under control after 30 minutes of arrival of the first engine company. No injuries were reported from the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal's office.
