Gas line was compromised by construction equipment; nearby businesses were forced to evacuate
At 11:38 a.m. Monday (Jan. 23), Vancouver Fire Department units were dispatched to the intersection of NE 104th Ave and SE Mill Plain Blvd. for the report of a gas line that had been compromised by construction equipment.
Vancouver Fire arrived to find high levels of natural gas in the area. Fire and police crews moved quickly to isolate the intersection and evacuate nearby businesses. Vancouver Fire personnel were on scene to assist Northwest Natural Gas.
