On Tuesday (Sept. 8) at approximately 8:58 a.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of NE 137th Avenue and NE 99th Street.
A white 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on NE 99th Street when the driver turned right onto NE 137th Avenue. The F-150 struck a 55-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing NE 137th Avenue in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was walking a dog at the time of the collision.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by AMR. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is investigating the collision. Impairment may have been a factor. The driver was released pending the results of toxicology results and completion of the investigation.
The dog was not injured and was reunited with its family. Portions of the roadway were closed during the investigation.
