VANCOUVER — One man is dead after an early morning crash in Vancouver involving a stolen vehicle.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office reports that a high-impact collision between two vehicles happened at the 4000 block of Northeast Minnehaha St., in Vancouver, around 6 a.m. this morning, Tue., Dec. 6.
Law enforcement investigators say an initial investigation shows that the stolen vehicle was traveling westbound on Minnehaha Street when another vehicle attempted to turn into a nearby parking lot and drove into the path of the westbound vehicle.
“Excessive speed of the westbound vehicle may be a causing factor in this crash,” the Clark County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.
The front-seat passenger in the westbound vehicle was killed in the impact. The driver of the westbound vehicle, along with a female passenger in the back seat were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle turning into the parking lot was not injured.
Clark County Sheriff’s deputies, Vancouver Fire & Rescue and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to the accident. The Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is investigating.
