Clark County Council District 3 candidate Chuck Keplar offers his platform to voters

I am running for Clark County Council in District 3 to represent the families of Clark County. I refuse to sit around hoping someone else will find the solutions we need. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. Unlike many, I believe in integrity and will do what I say. I will address issues that matter to our families.
Families are over-taxed and getting less for their money. County spending needs a common-sense approach, and our leaders should push to lower taxes. I am the only candidate in District 3 committed to reducing county spending and lowering the tax burden on our families. Public safety is a high priority, especially the safety of our children in schools. We must do everything we can at the county level to protect our kids. The public safety tax revenue could be used to bring school resource officers back. Homelessness and drug overdoses are out of control, and we need recovery-based solutions instead of harm-reduction methods. Transportation is a critical issue for families in my district. We must act to prevent tolls and increased congestion, which would be devastating. An $8 billion bridge replacement that doesn’t increase capacity is not fiscally responsible. I will oppose any bridge plan that does not increase vehicle capacity across the Columbia River and will oppose tolls. We need sensible and affordable transportation solutions.
Clark County is in danger of becoming like Portland. We cannot continue to adopt the same policies on government spending, homelessness, crime, and transportation. I will bring common-sense solutions to real-world problems and represent the voters of District 3.
