Journey Theater is proud to present its take on a rare, modern classic.
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim took everyone’s favorite storybook characters and brought them together in this timeless, yet relevant, piece.
“Into the Woods” will premiere opening night, July 31, at Heritage High School in Vancouver.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk.
When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results.
There are five performances scheduled:
Opening night is Friday, July 31, at 7 p.m. Heritage High School is located at 7825 NE 130th 130th Ave. in Vancouver.
From there, the show continues on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 6 p.m., then the following week on Friday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. The show will conclude with two performances on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 1 p.m. and then at 6 p.m.

Journey Theater is a Jesus-centered theater arts program that exists to grow youth and their families in character and purpose to be difference-makers in the world. Journey has been serving Clark County since 2002.
