On Saturday (Feb. 3) at about 1 a.m., the Vancouver Fire Department was called for a motor vehicle collision on I-5 northbound near the Mill Plain Blvd. exit.
Engine 1 and Truck 1 from the downtown fire station responded to the scene. Truck 1, Engine 1 and American Medical Response arrived to find the person trapped in a vehicle and needing the Jaws of Life to remove him from the vehicle.
It took the crews 10 minutes to untangle the patient from the vehicle and move him to the ambulance for transport to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The condition of the man was unavailable at the time of this report.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) was on scene and investigating the accident.
