Fast-moving fire torches home, car and motorhome in Salmon Creek

Initial reports were that no one was home at the start of the fire

A rapidly burning fire swept through a home in Salmon Creek early Friday (july 7) evening, damaging the home, car, and motorhome but fortunately not harming residents or pets. 

Firefighters with Clark County Fire District 6 were called to the blaze shortly after 7 p.m.  When they got to the 1500 block of NE 131^st Circle they found heavy fire, which appeared to have started in the garage.  Flames extended to the attic of the home as well as a nearby car and motorhome.

Initial reports were that no one was home at the start of the fire, but it’s believed that five people live in the home. No word at the time of this report if the Red Cross has been contacted to house the residents. 

Fire District 6 crews had mutual help from Vancouver Fire. The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office will determine the fire’s cause as well as damage estimates. 

Five fire engines, one truck, one squad, and three battalion chiefs fought the blaze, which was under control in 30 minutes.
