A community car show organized by Impact Automotive in Yacolt raised more than $2,500 for the 5th Annual Windhaven Ride for Veterans.
The Yacolt Classic & Custom Car Show featured classic and custom vehicles, motorcycles, local vendors, raffles, barbecue and activities for children, including a kids car show, face painting and balloon art.
American Legion Tum Tum Post 168 Amboy thanked Brad Yahn, Melissa McCoy-Yahn, Tara Scott and the entire Impact Automotive team, along with everyone who attended, volunteered, donated or otherwise supported the fundraiser.
The Windhaven Ride for Veterans raises money for mental health treatment for local veterans living with PTSD, trauma and other invisible wounds of military service. The Windhaven Veterans Program uses equine therapy, allowing veterans to work with horses as an alternative to traditional treatment approaches. The program has an 81 percent completion rate, compared with dropout rates as high as 68 percent in traditional veterans’ programs.
This year’s Windhaven Ride for Veterans will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at Yacolt Community Church, 34502 NE Amboy Road in Yacolt. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and departure at about 10 a.m. Motorcycles, hot rods and classic cars are welcome on the fully escorted route through north Clark County.
Organizers encourage participants to register early online. The fundraising campaign is still working toward its 2026 goal of $20,000 to support veterans.
