Vancouver Fire Department responds to restaurant fire
Just before 6:45 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 19) morning, the Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke and flames inside of a restaurant at 11115 NE Fourth Plain Blvd.
A battalion chief arrived within two minutes and found a working fire with smoke showing from the structure, which is the site of the Javier’s Tacos restaurant. A second alarm was requested to the scene to assist with the fire but, ultimately they were not utilized.
Firefighters stretched hose lines into the restaurant to locate and extinguish the fire. A truck company used a saw to cut a hole in the roof to allow for heat and smoke to lift out of the building. The fire was under control within 15 minutes.
There were no reports of injuries and the business was closed at the time of the incident. The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
