Fire crews worked for 22 minutes to extricate the male and he was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center by American Medical Response in stable condition
Shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 11), a 9-1-1 caller reported a high impact motor vehicle collision on State Route 14 eastbound just before the Ellsworth Blvd. exit.
Fire crews arrived to find a single occupant inside a vehicle with heavy damage and they were unable to gain access to the patient due to entrapment. Fire crews worked for 22 minutes to extricate the male and he was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center by American Medical Response in stable condition.
State Route 14 eastbounds was closed for about one hour while crews worked in the roadway to free the occupant. The second vehicle left the scene and was never located, the collision is being investigated by the Washington State Patrol.
