VANCOUVER – The city of Vancouver is continuing to rehabilitate aging sewer lines in the community. As part of work downtown, East 6th Street will be closed between Esther and Columbia Streets from April 19-21 or April 24-26, pending weather and construction conditions. This temporary closure is planned for weekdays and is necessary to maintain a safe work zone.
During the closure:
- Vehicles will not be allowed to travel in the eastbound lane along 6th Street, from Esther to Columbia streets
- Parking will not be allowed on the south side of 6th Street
- Crosswalks in the area could be temporarily closed; please watch for posted pedestrian detour routes, including pedestrian crossings along 6th Street in this area
Specific work dates may vary due to weather and construction conditions. Please stay alert for street signs announcing closure dates and marked detour routes using Esther, 8th and Columbia streets.
