VANCOUVER – People traveling on Interstate 205 in Vancouver and State Route 432 in Longview should plan ahead for delays and additional travel time.
Starting Monday night, Jan. 29, Washington State Department of Transportation contractor crew, Massana Construction, Inc., will use overnight ramp closures along I-205 in Vancouver and SR 432 in Longview to replace end guardrail components.
What to expect
- From 10 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29 to 5 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30: The northbound off-ramp from I-205 to SR 500 at Exit 30C will be closed.
- From 10 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 to 5 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31: The northbound off-ramp from I-205 to Mill Plain at Exit 28 will be closed.
- From 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6 to 5 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7: The eastbound off-ramp from SR 432 to 3rd Avenue will be closed.
- From 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7 to 5 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 8: The on-ramp from 3rd Avenue to eastbound SR 432 will be closed.
During ramp closures, crews will remove and replace existing breakaway cable terminals that don’t meet current crash testing standards, with new terminals that do. Cable terminals are positioned at the end of each guardrail and are specifically designed to control barrier penetration for vehicles that collide with the end or risk flipping upon impact.
To keep both travelers and crews safe, travelers are asked to slow down, pay attention and use caution through the work zone.
