CAMAS – Camas City Councilor Leslie Lewallen has formally filed to run for re-election, officially launching her 2025 campaign to continue serving the people of Camas.

In her first term, she has built a reputation as a principled, transparent leader who puts Camas families first — prioritizing public safety, fiscal responsibility, and community-centered growth.
“As a mom, former prosecutor, and councilor, I’ve worked hard to stand up for Camas families and small businesses,” said Lewallen. “I’m running for re-election to continue that fight — to keep Camas safe, affordable, and thriving for generations to come.”
Key accomplishments
Authored and passed a resolution opposing light rail on the I-5 Bridge Replacement Project, protecting taxpayers from billions in unnecessary spending.
• Led efforts to strengthen public safety, including protecting School Resource Officers in local schools.
• Consistently voted against tax increases, including utility fee hikes and new transportation taxes that burden working families.
• Rewrote the city’s camping and detox ordinances to address homelessness and drug abuse while protecting neighborhoods and natural areas.
• Championed transparency and accountability on the Council, pushing back against rubber-stamp decision-making and giving residents a real voice in city government.
