No one was home at the time of the incident
On Thursday (Dec. 22), the Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched to 10513 SE 14th Street for a tree into a house. A neighbor called 9-1-1 stating a large tree fell into her neighbor’s house and she was not sure if anyone was home at the time.
The first engine arrived within seven minutes of the dispatch and found a large tree through the house, which caused significant structural damage. The firefighters immediately searched the house and found that no one was home.
Vancouver’s Technical Rescue team arrived to assess the structural stability of the house and determined it should not be occupied.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident. The occupant of the home has family members who could provide a temporary residence.
