La Center to play host to unbeaten Stevenson

La Center has been dominant in Trico League play for many years and the Wildcats appear to be once again.

That’s three wins in a row as they head into a giant Trico League matchup with Stevenson. There have been some issues with me trying to view La Center’s games. A glitch that I am hoping to get fixed in the coming weeks so I can have more notes. Until then, here are some notes provided by coach John Lambert.

What did the coach learn about his team in Week 5? “That we have been improving with our execution each week,’’ Lambert said. “Our effort has always been great. We still have to improve to be where we want to be.” MVP on offense: “The offensive line: Caiden Krout, Colin Obot, Jaryd Parmentier, Ty Morris, Jack Hiller and Dayton Erickson,’’ Lambert said. “Very few errors. Best execution so far this year.” (La Center ended up with 473 yards of offense in Week 5 and that game was played with a running clock the entire second half.) MVP on defense: Evan Honore with two interceptions, plus solid on run coverage. “Very active,” the coach said. Thoughts on Week 6 vs. Stevenson: “Stevenson is undefeated,’’ Lambert said. “They give tremendous effort on defense. They have playmakers on offense. We need to focus on effort, communication, and each player doing their job.”
