A Korean War Veterans Remembrance Ceremony will be held Saturday, June 27, at the VA Medical Center in Vancouver.
“The event is dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who served during the Korean War and recognizing the sacrifices they made in defense of freedom and democracy,” according to Jullie Ji, Korean War Veterans Memorial Committee of Southwest Washington. “It is also an opportunity for our community to express our gratitude to these veterans and help preserve their legacy for future generations.”
The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, near the helicopter on the campus of the VA Medical Center, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. in Vancouver. Friends and family are encouraged to gather in reflection, remembrance, and shared support.
At last year’s ceremony, the names of the 39 soldiers from Clark County who died in the Korean War were read, each accompanied by the ringing of a bell.
