Sites, dates announced for Week 10 football playoffs

Nine teams from Southwest Washington have qualified for postseason

Nine weeks are in the books. A number of teams from Clark County are hoping there are five more weeks to the high school football season. In all, niine from the region get to play a Week 10 playoff game.

As far as home games, Clark County fans will have plenty of options this week. At McKenzie Stadium, the top-ranked Class 4A team in the state, Union, will host Enumclaw at 4:30 p.m. Friday. That will be followed by Mountain View hosting Ballard at 7:30 p.m. in a Class 3A state preliminary round game. The defending Class 2A state champion Hockinson Hawks have an interesting week, in terms of finalizing a site. The Hawks are planning to host W.F. West at 7 p.m. Friday on campus. However, the grass field could be an issue. A final decision will be made Thursday. If the field is deemed too wet to play on, the game will be moved to District Stadium in Battle Ground. In a 1A district playoff, La Center will get a home game after finishing as the No. 2 seed from the Trico League. The Wildcats host Elma at 7 p.m. Five teams are on the road this week. Camas, No. 2 out of the 4A Greater St. Helens League, has to wait until Saturday. The Papermakers will play Bothell at 3 p.m. at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell. Skyview, No. 3 from the 4A GSHL, will play Hazen at 7 p.m. Friday at Renton Memorial Stadium. In Class 3A, Prairie, making it to the playoffs for the first time since 2011, will take on Lincoln at 7 p.m. Friday at Lincoln Bowl in Tacoma. In 2A district playoff games, Woodland, No. 2 from the 2A GSHL, travels to Tumwater for a 7 p.m. Saturday game. And Columbia River, No. 3, will be on the road to face Black Hills at 7 p.m. Friday.  All Week 10 games concerning these Southwest Washington playoff teams are loser-out games. Winners will advance to the state playoffs. On Sunday, committees formed by the WIAA will determine the seeding for all 16 teams that have qualified for state in each classification.
