Expect delays northbound on I-5 through Woodland for emergency bridge repair April 20

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close the right lane of the North Fork Lewis River Bridge to repair a hole

WOODLAND – People who use northbound Interstate 5 near Woodland will need to plan ahead for significant morning and afternoon delays during bridge repair work this week.

On Thursday (April 20) Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close the right lane of the North Fork Lewis River Bridge to repair a hole.

This is a temporary patch until more extensive work can be done in summer 2023 to rehabilitate the bridge deck as part of the I-5 NB/SB North Fork Lewis River Bridge project.

What to expect during bridge work

• Between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20, WSDOT crews will close the right lane of northbound traffic on I-5 at the North Fork Lewis River Bridge near milepost 19 just south of Woodland.
• During this work, traffic will merge into the center and left lanes creating significant backups and delays. Travelers should avoid peak hours and stay alert in the work zone.
