WSDOT maintenance crews will begin work to install a new culvert underneath a portion of SR 503 near Yale Lake
COUGAR – Travelers who use State Route 503 through Ariel and Cougar should expect delays.
Beginning Monday, June 5, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will begin work to install a new culvert underneath a portion of SR 503 near Yale Lake. This new culvert is designed to help preserve the roadway and improve safety by collecting and redirecting excessive water away from the highway during heavy seasonal rainstorms.
Closure details
- Monday, June 5, starting at 9 a.m., crews will reduce SR 503 down to a single lane with flaggers alternating traffic through the area near milepost 37.
- Tuesday, June 6 through Friday, June 9, starting daily at 7 a.m., crews will reduce SR 503 down to a single lane with flaggers alternating traffic through the area near milepost 37.
All lanes will be reopened each day by 4:30 p.m.
