The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries
On Monday (Nov. 25) at about 8:17 p.m., officers from the Battle Ground Police Department responded to the intersection of West Main Street and SW 15th Avenue for the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Preliminary details indicate the pedestrian, an adult male, was crossing southbound on West Main Street when he was struck by the vehicle, traveling eastbound. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is on-going; however, the driver is not suspected to have been impaired at the time of this incident. Due to the seriousness of the pedestrian’s injuries, Washington State Patrol is assisting the Battle Ground Police Department with the investigation. No additional information is available currently.
The Battle Ground Police Department would like to remind pedestrians and drivers to obey all traffic control devices. Additionally, police would like to remind pedestrians to wear bright colored clothing, especially those with reflective material, when traveling along roadways and in marked crosswalks.
