The Vancouver Police Department investigation into a Tuesday (March 4) shooting revealed there was an exchange of gunfire between a juvenile male who was shot and later booked into juvenile detention and a male who fled in a vehicle.
At 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, detectives from the Vancouver Police Crime Prevention Unit (CRU) and the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force located the suspect vehicle and the additional shooting suspect. That suspect was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail for Assault I and Drive By Shooting. Additional charges are pending.
The juvenile male who suffered the gunshot injury was booked into the juvenile detention center for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
On Tuesday at about 4 p.m., callers to 9-1-1 reported hearing shots fired in the area of E Fourth Plain Blvd. and Fort Vancouver Way. A male suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot injury was located. Officers also located multiple shell casings in the 2500 block of Fort Vancouver Way. A canvass of the area was conducted, including a K9 track. No additional victims were located.
Anyone with information, that has not spoken to police, is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Department.
The Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.
