An adult male was found unconscious and not breathing inside and was immediately moved outside for medical attention; he was later pronounced deceased at the scene
At 2:02 a.m. on Friday (Dec. 6), the Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a house fire at 15102 NE 81st Way in Vancouver. The fire department responded with 22 firefighters on eight apparatus.
The first engine arrived just four minutes later to find fire coming from the front of a one-story house. Crews quickly attacked the fire and made entry to search the house for victims. One adult male was found unconscious and not breathing inside and was immediately moved outside for medical attention.
Vancouver Fire Paramedics and EMTs began advanced, lifesaving medical procedures and were joined by paramedics from American Medical Response ambulance services. The patient did not respond to medical care and was pronounced deceased on scene. Firefighting efforts continued and the house fire was extinguished.
The Clark County Fire Marshal's office was on scene to investigate.
