Illegal voting has many faces. In this article we explore the myriad of ways votes may be cast. Each of these has its own challenges in identifying and verifying. Some will say the numbers are small for any given miss vote and that may be true, but, as in all things, enough small errors, especially in tight races, can make the difference and change outcomes.
We must take whatever steps are necessary to prevent any error.

Statistical studies on U.S. history note that roughly one in every 15,000 votes cast in state-level legislative races ends up being a pivotal, tie-breaking, or single-vote margin. [1]
Thousands of local and state elections have been decided by a tiny number of votes, including 94 elections decided by a single vote and 394 determined by fewer than five votes across tracked U.S. races in recent cycles alone. While rare in major national contests, razor-thin margins do happen.

A preliminary July 2026 review by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) estimates there may be as many as 190,832 potential non-citizens on California's voter rolls, a figure state officials dispute as speculative and unverified.
All of the claims of “lack” of ineligible voting may not be true. Trust is poor. The draft press release states that “reviews of the four states’ records” found 190,832 non-citizens registered in California; 35,152 in New Jersey; 15,903 in Nevada; and 14,576 in Pennsylvania.

Allegations of significant voter fraud have been raised regarding Zohran Mamdani's 2025 New York City mayoral victory, though no official finding has yet confirmed illegality. Election integrity activist Marly Hornik, founder of RealAmerica.Vote, claims an audit of 1 million ballots revealed 230,000 illegal votes, exceeding Mamdani's 207,000-vote margin of victory over Andrew Cuomo.
Hornik's analysis of the 2.2 million total votes reportedly identified specific irregularities:
- 7% of voters were nonexistent in records.
- 6% possessed fake or invalid Social Security numbers.
- 10% did not reside in New York City.
Federal authorities, including the FBI Albany office and U.S. Attorney John Sarcone, are reportedly investigating these claims of felony election misconduct. While Hornik and commentator Naomi Wolf (who alleged 100,000 blank ballots were improperly counted) question the election's legitimacy, official boards of elections have not validated these findings, and Mamdani's citizenship status remains legally intact despite political calls for review.
An engineer who designed election-altering software says that the 2020 presidential vote in Colorado was manipulated by shaving votes in strong Republican counties - including a 10% cut in Douglas County and Mesa County - until Biden cleared 50% statewide.
Ralph Pezzullo says that if you looked for the fraud in blue urban areas, you wouldn't find it, because they didn't increase votes where people may look.
Instead they systematically reduced President Trump votes in Red rural counties - where it wouldn't be noticed and where people wouldn't look.
Pezzullo outlined the cheating scheme in his book Stolen Elections: The Takedown of Democracies Worldwide.
He based his findings on years of investigations with former CIA officer Gary Berntsen and partner Martin Rodil. Pezzullo says he's one of the engineers who built the algorithm.
According to the book, they avoided obvious over performance in Democrat strongholds - instead directing the software to target rural counties where Trump ran strongest, shaving enough votes to flip the statewide result without drawing immediate suspicion.

Douglas County (Castle Rock area)
2016: Trump 54.71% (102,573 votes) — Clinton 36.62% (68,657 votes). Trump margin: +18.09 points.
2020: Trump 52.36% (121,270 votes) — Biden 45.19% (104,653 votes). Trump margin: +7.17 points.
Mesa County (Grand Junction area)
2016: Trump 64.10% (49,779 votes) — Clinton 27.98% (21,729 votes). Trump margin: +36.12 points.
2020: Trump 62.78% (56,894 votes) — Biden 34.80% (31,536 votes). Trump margin: +27.98 points.
The book says those Republican margins would have been higher without the shaving of Republican votes in Republican counties.
Another engineer testified under oath on produced source code, system logs, or contemporaneous documents confirming the specific Colorado operation.
The book traces the software’s origins to systems developed in Venezuela under Hugo Chávez, later adapted and deployed through election-technology companies that secured contracts in the United States and dozens of other countries.
Berntsen and Rodil have described teams of mathematicians, statisticians, and engineers who planned the interventions a year or more in advance, using maps of expected vote patterns to keep final margins close enough to appear legitimate.
The simplest solution is in-person voting with proof of right to vote. One day. Given that proof of ID is required for hundreds of situations the only reason NOT to us in-person with proof is because someone wants to affect the outcomes. ANY voting law flaw is unacceptable.
