Opinion: Two state governors put political contributions above children
Larson argues Kotek and Ferguson are passing on billions in federal scholarship funds to protect union political donations.

They claim to care about the education of kids, but Governors Tina Kotek and Bob Ferguson's actions put the lie to that.

Thirty-one states have signed off on the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program approved more than 18 months ago by Congress.

It lets American taxpayers put up to $1,700 bucks toward scholarships to give students and parents some choice in their kindergarten through 12th grade education.

Even Democrat governors in Colorado and New York have said yes. That’s all they have to do: say “yes” and the money flows from taxpayers to scholarships.

How much are Queen Tina and Feckless Ferguson passing on?

At least a couple of billion dollars.

Kotek and Ferguson constantly run their mouths demanding more money for education; in this case they won’t, and I’ll tell you why.

Giving choice in education to families means students flee from failing government schools and the unionized teachers who work there.

In the last 10 years, education unions have put more than a billion dollars into politicians' pockets … and 94 percent are democrats.

So, when it comes to a choice of your kids’ education and political cash, you know which one Democrats like Kotek and Ferguson will choose.
