NTSB will investigate crash that happened in Amboy on Monday
Two people escaped injury after a helicopter crash in Amboy on Monday.
A call came in at 6:09 p.m. Monday to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office that a helicopter crashed in the area of 449th Street and NE Yale Bridge Road in Amboy. Emergency crews from Fire District 10 responded and confirmed that both occupants of the helicopter had safely exited the wreckage and were not injured.
There was a significant fuel leak, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. The Washington State Department of Ecology has been contacted to address the environmental hazard.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been notified and will investigate the incident. Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies have secured the crash site until it is officially turned over to NTSB investigators.
