The victim was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with significant injuries
On Saturday (June 24) at about 1:24 a.m. a witness called 9-1-1 to report a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on SE 412th Ave. near the intersection with NE Washougal River Road in Clark County.
A vehicle had crashed into a tree and after the occupant of the vehicle exited, he was hit by another vehicle. The second vehicle then fled the scene. First responders arrived and provided medical aid to the victim before he was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with significant injuries.
Detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. The fleeing driver was identified as 23-year-old Ryan Lynch, of Vancouver.
Later on Saturday, Lynch agreed to surrender to law enforcement and was taken into custody. He was booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of hit and run involving injury. This case is active pending further investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit.
