Clark County has 13 football players, from four classifications, who were voted to all-state teams
The Washington State Football Coaches Association has filled a void by creating its own all-state high school teams, and 13 players from Clark County teams made the list for the 2023 season.
For years, Washington media members of The Associated Press voted on the all-state teams, but that ended a few years back, according to the WSFCA. The changing landscape of media coverage throughout the state made it more difficult to create an all-state team. The WSFCA stepped in with committees for each classification. Every league in the state nominated players,, and committees for each classification came up with the best of the best.
In Class 4A, three athletes from Clark County were recognized: Seniors Trenton Swanson (WR) and Carson Osmus (OL) of Camas, and junior Riah Tua (DL) of Skyview.
In Class 3A, three athletes from Clark County made the all-state team: Seniors Arthur Ban (TE) and Fox Crader (OL) of Evergreen, and Porter Drake (RB) of Mountain View.
In Class 2A, three athletes from Clark County made the list: Seniors Holden Bea (QB) of Washougal, Elijah Andersen (RB) of Woodland, and Dylan Johnson (OL) of Ridgefield.
In Class 1A, four athletes from Clark County were all-state worthy: Juniors Jacob Williams (RB) and Joe Callerame (Athlete) of Seton Catholic, and seniors Ryan Kawalek (OL) and Jalen Ward (DB) of La Center.
