Professional basketball team based in Vancouver opens season this week
The Vancouver Volcanoes are opening the season later this week, and fans can meet the professional basketball players at a special event Wednesday, Feb. 28.
The Volcanoes will be at Chuck E. Cheese from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, an opportunity for fans to hang out with the players, get autographs, and talk about the upcoming season. Guests can take advantage of a group deal on pizza and games for $10 per child. Chuck E. Cheese is located at 7721 NE Vancouver Plaza Drive.
The Vancouver Volcanoes will open their third season in The Basketball League on Friday with a road game against the Emerald City Jaguars in Eugene, Ore. The home opener for the Volcanoes is Friday, March 8 against the Salem Capitals. The Volcanoes play their home games at Clark College. The Volcanoes will play 10 home games in the regular season.

During the season, the Volcanes will be hosting official community fundraising games with seven local organizations. That could include split ticket revenue, 50/50 raffles, and honorary tip-offs, as well as in-arena promotions. The Volcanoes are proud of their relationships with The Boys & Girls Club, Vancouver Public Schools Foundation, Northwest Association of Blind Athletes, Chelsea’s Closet, East Vancouver Business Association Scholarship Fund, the Salvation Army, and Hope for the Good Foundation.
