The Volcanoes lost Thursday night in Seattle but remain in first place
The Vancouver Volcanoes have had a strong start to the basketball season, but after a loss Thursday in Seattle, they could use some home support Saturday night.
The Volcanoes, Vancouver’s professional basketball team that plays in The Basketball League, are hosting the Wenatchee BigHorns at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hudson’s Bay High School.
The Volcanoes fell into a big hole Thursday night in Seattle. A great fourth quarter by Vancouver was not enough to win, though, in a 131-122 loss.
Still, Vancouver remains alone in first place in the Pacific Northwest division with a 6-2 record.
Markus Golder is one of the leading scorers in the league, averaging 25.6 points per game.
The Volcanoes will also continue their season-long journey with local nonprofit organizations. Saturday’s game will feature a fundraiser and other awareness activities for the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes.Tickets for Volcanoes home games are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children.
