VANCOUVER – On Tuesday (July 21) at about 10 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to the 5700 block of NE Hwy 99 for a serious injury hit-and-run collision. According to a witness, a pedestrian was attempting to cross Hwy 99 in an area where there is no crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound. The driver made no attempt to stop. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
The suspect vehicle is described as a small, four door, white sedan. The vehicle will also likely have significant front-end damage and is missing the driver’s side mirror.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating. Anyone with information on the location of the suspect vehicle, or the identity of the driver, is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Department.
