Entry fees have been paid by the Washington High School Chess Association and the Chess Enrichment Association for high school and middle school students wanting to play in the Southwest Washington Championships on Saturday in Centralia.

High schoolers and middle schoolers must register by Thursday night to play in Centralia on Saturday

Middle school and high school students who love chess have an opportunity on Saturday to show off their skills at the Southwest Washington Chess Championships at Centralia College.

There is a high school championship and middle schools championship, and the entry fees have been paid for by the Washington High School Chess Association and the Chess Enrichment Association.

Players must register by 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 in order to compete.

Check-in for both tournaments is at 9 a.m., with a players meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Play begins at 10 a.m. Players will play five matches.
