The president of Battle Ground Senior Citizens, Inc., Sharon Wodtke has been instrumental in that organization’s growth, which is helping senior citizens not just in Battle Ground but all across Southwest Washington
Sharon Wodtke, the president of Battle Ground Senior Citizens Inc., was honored with the Community Hero Award and the 9th annual Senior Heroes Awards held in July.
“This award is a reflection of Sharon’s deep commitment to enriching the lives of seniors,” said Debi Friesz, chair for the awards. “Her leadership has not only strengthened her organization but has also made a lasting impact on the well-being and quality of life for countless individuals.”
Wodtke was recognized for her unwavering dedication, compassion, and tireless service to the senior community in Battle Ground and beyond. She has spent countless hours leading programs, organizing events, advocating for senior needs, and fostering a welcoming environment for older adults in the region.
Under Wodtke’s leadership, Battle Ground Senior Citizens has expanded its outreach efforts, grown participation in community events, and built partnerships with local agencies. Her hands-on involvement has made her a beloved figure among members, volunteers, and community partners.
“Sharon is the heart and soul of our organization,” said Lori Lindberg, board advisor. “She leads by example, and her energy and compassion inspire all of us to do more for our senior community.”
The Community Hero Award is given annually to an individual who exemplifies outstanding volunteerism, leadership, and community spirit.
