Battle Ground’s 2023 Citizen of the Year is Ken Steinke
Battle Ground’s 2023 Citizen of the Year will be honored with the traditional Honorary Rose Planting, prior to the Harvest Days Parade, Sat., July 20.
The Royal Rosarians of Portland, as Ambassadors of Goodwill and Official Greeters for the city of Portland, honor a number of area communities and their citizens annually with a lovely Rose Ceremony, and 2023’s Citizen of the Year is Ken Steinke.
Steinke volunteers tirelessly in the community with the Battle Ground Lions, Walk 'n Knock and the North County Community Food Bank.
“We are thrilled to honor and recognize Ken with this beautiful tradition,’’ read a statement announcing the event.
The ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m., prior to the parade in Central Park on Main Street in the formal rose garden created by the Lewis River Rotary.
