In case you missed it, the Washington Education Association (WEA), the largest union in Washington State, had secret details about their opposition to Let’s Go Washington’s (LGW) campaign leaked. Brandi Kruse reported some of the more hilarious bits from the meeting in the first 20 minutes on her podcast, UnDivided.
The meeting opens with members being told that their union has voted to fund the campaign against the initiatives run by Washington Families for Freedom. This organization has been posting non-stop hate and lies about the campaign for LGW’s two initiatives since they were introduced. A $50,000 contribution to an organization that instills fear and spreads lies about the initiatives is a clear line in the sand about where the WEA stands on the issues of fairness in girls’ sports and transparency from schools to parents and should be a cause for concern to all dues-paying members.
Questions for the WEA:
- Do you support biological males taking the place of females in sports?
- Do you support schools keeping information about a child’s wellbeing from their parents?
Among other outrageous statements like “there is no scientific consensus on what biological sex is”, the WEA “experts” claimed that there is also no scientific way to determine the gender of a person, not even with DNA testing.
Questions for the WEA:
- Is your official stance that biological sex is just a social construct?
- Is this what you are teaching our kids?
LGW founder, Brian Heywood, offered his remarks following the controversy:
“The WEA teachers union is actively funding groups that are working to disadvantage female athletes and keep secrets from parents. Whether their secret meeting with pseudo-experts was leaked or not, their anti-family, anti-women and anti-science stances are on full display. It doesn’t take a PhD to know that young women deserve to have the opportunities they have worked so hard for. According to the WEA, however, it is impossible for even a medical expert to figure out who is a boy and who is a girl. We have some very real questions for the WEA that we hope members of the media will ask and not give up until they get answers from the union.”
Kruse wrapped up the recap by sharing an email that was quietly distributed only to members of the WEA that agree with the radical ideology of the organization’s leadership.
