Whether state policy in Olympia is "working" depends entirely on who you ask. If you are part of the well-connected political establishment, the system might seem fine. But if you are a working family, a senior on a fixed income, or a small business owner in Vancouver, it's hard to point to a single major system that is actually delivering positive, tangible results.
Look at the realities on the ground: The cost of living keeps climbing, taxes keep rising, neighborhood safety concerns are up, and our local schools are struggling under budget crisis. Olympia doesn't have a resource problem; it has a "Priority" problem.
We don't need leaders who go to the Capitol to defend state bureaucracy or play nice with career politicians. We need a representative who acts as a watchdog for our community – someone who will:
• Open the books
• Audit state agencies to demand complete transparency on where taxpayer dollars are actually going before asking for more
• Demand results over overhead
• Stop treating issues like homelessness and public safety as industries to be endlessly managed, and start funding measures that produce measurable outcomes
• Prioritize local families by putting the immediate, daily struggles of local citizens – affordability, safe streets, and strong schools – ahead of top-town state mandates
Real leadership isn't about making empty promises from the outside or accepting the status quo from the inside. It's about taking the everyday concerns of our neighbors directly to the legislative table and demanding strict, results – driven accountability
