‘No family should ever endure such a loss, and no nation should become normalized to killing and political violence’
The Clark County Democrats condemn all forms of political violence, and we are deeply saddened by the news that Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed today during an event at Utah Valley University. We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Kirk’s family, friends, and all here locally who mourn him. No family should ever endure such a loss, and no nation should become normalized to killing and political violence. We urge calm today and always, both locally and nationwide.
We condemn political violence in all its forms, against anyone, from any quarter. Our democracy depends on the safety of people participating in civic life, including those with whom we most strenuously disagree.
“While details are still emerging, our hearts are with Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones. We condemn this act unequivocally,” stated Tim Probst, Chair of the Clark County Democrats.
“Our community deserves to live, learn, and debate without fear. Calm adult leadership, and responsible citizenship by all people, can lower the temperature of our politics and keep tragedies like this from becoming the new normal,” said Donna Sinclair, Vice-chair of the Clark County Democrats.

We ask all of the Clark County community — every one of us — to reject dehumanizing rhetoric, model civic respect, and embrace evidence-based policy to heal and strengthen our nation.
