Copper Bell Bookshop opens October 1 — like something out of the movies
RIDGEFIELD, WA, USA – Here’s the good news for book lovers throughout Clark County: just around the corner in Ridgefield is a new and wonderful bookshop that feels like it came right out of the movies. Copper Bell Bookshop is the kind of charming bookseller that many people long for in this impersonal age of monster retailers.
“Creating and launching Copper Bell Bookshop has been a passion project for years,” says founder Debra Warnock. “The whole idea of doing a start-up bookstore just wouldn’t leave me alone. Now it’s happening, and we’re working hard to get it right…right from the start.”
Warnock is indeed putting the final touches on her quaint bookshop, located in Pioneer Village near the roundabout intersection of Pioneer Street and Royle Road, adjacent to the Ridgefield Starbucks.
Eager future customers were already discovering Copper Bell Bookshop even before the build-out was complete, sticking their heads in the door and marveling at what they saw in the works: an almost theatrical setting for books that feels less like a store and more like an inviting, well-appointed, playful sanctuary for readers — rich with the embracing warmth and patina of the written word.
“We crafted this little corner of the world to be a special place for people who love books,” said Warnock. “I’d love this to be a place that cultivates new readers. You can touch books. You can linger and ask for advice. Wide-eyed children can explore. So, while our shop may not be huge, it’s a place where the imagination knows no limits.”
Featured sections of Copper Bell Bookshop include New York Times and indie best sellers, book club selections, young adult, fiction, non-fiction, and an impressive children’s section.
